The Psychological Testing Center, a program offered by the Lighthouse
Clinic, provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for children,
adolescents and adults of all ages. Psychological evaluations
are often requested by a physician, therapist, attorney, teacher,
family member, caregiver, or by the person him/herself.
Psychological tests can be reliable and valid instruments in capturing academic, occupational, forensic, medical, interpersonal and psychological profiles. The testing can identify personal strengths and weaknesses in areas such as personality, mood, memory, intelligence, academic and vocational ability. This psychological snapshot can provide a guide in interventions for correction, compensation or recovery.
Psychological testing may be requested for:
- Learning/Academics: intellectual ability, learning disability, academic planning, dyslexia, communication
- Developmental-cognitive disability: brain injury, dementia, memory deficits, safety of the elderly and residential planning
- Personality testing: mental disorders, personality profile
- Forensic-litigation: child custody, personal injury, competency
- Behavior disorder: attention deficit, conduct disorder, hyperactivity
- Employment: career counseling
- Family: pre-marital/marital compatibility, parenting patterns, communication, family functioning
- Clinical diagnosis: depression, anxiety, eating disorder, chemical dependence, etc.
The results of the evaluation are confidential. Psychological testing is covered by many insurance policies. Alternative payment schedules can be arranged. To learn more about the Psychological Testing Center of Lighthouse Clinic or to arrange an appointment, please call or write to:
