Darcy McDaniel, LCSW - Psychotherapist

Darcy specializes in supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, stress, ADHD, chronic and serious mental health conditions, trauma, and major life transitions. She has extensive experience working with parenting challenges and women’s issues across all stages of life, including postpartum concerns, menopause, divorce, and grief. Her clinical work also includes helping individuals navigate anger, relationship stressors, and significant changes in their personal or family lives. Darcy works with adults ages 18 through the older adult phase of life.

Darcy believes therapy works best when it’s a collaborative process. She brings empathy, compassion, and a strengths-based perspective to every session, helping clients connect with their own resilience and inner capabilities. She integrates a person-centered approach, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT, mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed care to support clients in a way that feels safe, empowering, and grounded in their unique experiences.

Darcy brings over 30 years of experience in the mental health field to her position. Prior to joining Lighthouse, she spent 25 years at a community mental health clinic in Milwaukee, where she provided comprehensive mental health care—including psychotherapy and case management services—to individuals and families. Earlier in her career, Darcy worked in Louisville, KY within a Healthy Families initiative supporting parents with young children. Her experience also includes working in a day treatment program for individuals with persistent and chronic mental illness, as well as providing a wide range of services in a shelter setting to individuals who had experienced domestic violence and homelessness.
